Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the type of recognition with the garden, analyze the relationship with use satisfaction, and proposegarden creation measures to increase garden use satisfaction. For this purpose, users using the G University campus garden were surveyedabout their demographic characteristics, recognition of the garden, and satisfaction with using the garden. Users were highly satisfiedwith the area of the garden, the amount of plants and sunlight, and plant arrangement, but were low in terms of privacy. The typeof perception was identified as three factors: 'garden elements', 'garden use', and 'private space', and each factor had a positive correlationwith 'interest and originality' and 'visual beauty' among the detailed satisfaction levels. In addition, the recognition of the garden thathad the greatest impact on satisfaction with garden use was found to be related to the arrangement of plants. Therefore, to improvethe satisfaction of using the garden, we suggest adding interesting and original elements to the garden and introducing plants that canstimulate visual beauty.
