Until now, research has exerted influence on Japanese society or has become the main target of certain sects or temples, and the overall religious status of Japanese society has not been known. This study focuses on Japanese Buddhism, which had the greatest influence in Japanese religion, and aims to understand the specific Buddhist sects and temples built in Japanese colonial era Busan. Japan is known to coexist with various religions and believers who follow it, so in the case of Japanese Buddhism, there are several sects, not a single sect, and there must have been circumstances to expand their power in Busan. The research method is to organize the Japanese Buddhism that came to Busan Japanese colonial era in order of denomination and chronological order through the literature published by the Governor-General of Korea and find the location of major temples on the map of Busan. In addition, through a newspaper article, it is intended to identify major events and figures at the time that were at issue regarding Japanese Buddhism and to use them as supplementary materials. Since Japanese Buddhism was under the control of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, most of them were subject to missionary work, and with the liberation and the withdrawal of Japanese Buddhism, there were cases of Korean Buddhist temples. This study will show how Japanese Buddhism first arrived in Japanese colonial era Busan and related to the political trends of the country within Japanese society.
