Abstract

Issues on Data Recognition and Contents of Local History Education In this article, it has looked at the contents system of the local history education and the recognition of the local history data. The local history education at elementary school has been selected and educated on the basis of the living history of locality, city or province, however, it is distanced away from the explanation of the living status under the context of the local history. The local history education at elementary school is expected to be reduced for the opportunity of the local history education by omitting the city and province-oriented territory in 2010 when the amendment plan of the seventh education process would be implemented. However, with the historic way of thinking, it does not seem to have the national history-oriented history education even in elementary school. The local history data is the result of the activities in positive and creative thinking of historians. Therefore, the local history data has some distance in simple regional data and characteristics. And, when approach is made for the value of the local history data on the ordinary nature, surrounding value and micro-aspect, there would be many opportunities to secure data necessary for regional structure with the contents of the local history education. That is attributable to the local historic context not just in the understanding of individual knowledge. And, the point of view of contents structure in the knowledge and education of the local history has to have the relativity that recognizes the existence value of the local culture for each region, local identity and generality for seeking the locality.
