Abstract
The interrelationships among self-enhancement bias, parental attachment, and perception of facial emotional expression were examined in the tension- triggered situation. Positive correlations were predicted between parental attachment and positive perception of facial expression, and between parental attachment and self-enhancement bias. Pearson correlation and the Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) approach was used. The predictions were partly supported by the data. Correlationships among parental attachment, self- enhancement bias, and perception of facial expression ranged from .04 to .50. But there was nonsignificant relationship between perception of facial expression and attachment. Also, it was found that those who have high self-enhancement bias interpret neutral facial expression as more positively. In addition, the limitation of study and implication was discussed.
