본 연구는 청소년의 부모화 경험과 심리적 부적응의 관계를 알아보고, 성별에 따라 부모화 경험과 심리적 부적응의 관계에 차이가 있는지 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산광역시에 소재한 일반계 남, 여 고등학교, 전문계 남녀공학교에 재학하고 있는 고등학생 400명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 그중 347부를 연구의 분석에 사용하였다. 정준상관분석을 통해 자료를 분석한 결과, 첫째, 부모화 경험과 심리적 부적응 간에는 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모화 경험 중 불공평과 정서적 돌봄이 심리적 부적응과 관련이 있었으며, 심리적 부적응 중 우울/불안, 신체증상, 위축의 변인이 부모화 경험과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 각 성별에 따라 부모화 경험과 심리적 부적응의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 남학생과 여학생 모두 부모화 경험 중 불공평이 심리적 부적응과 가장 관계가 높았으며, 심리적 부적응 중 우울/불안이 부모화 경험과 관련이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 전체적으로 여학생이 남학생에 비해 부모화 경험과 심리적 부적응의 상관이 높게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 부모화 경험에 노출된 청소년의 심리적 적응을 돕기 위해서 학생의 성별에 따라 적절하게 부모화 경험을 다룰 수 있는 상담과 교육 프로그램의 필요성을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship between parentification and psychological maladjustment of adolescents. The subjects of this study were 347 high school students(142 boys and 205 girls). To analyze the data, canonical correlation analysis was performed. The following results from this study: First, there was a significantly positive correlation between parentification and psychological maladjustment of adolescents. Second, unfairness of parentification and emotional caregiving were related to psychological maladjustment significantly, anxiety/depression, somatic complaints, and withdrawal were related to parentification significantly. Third, relationship between parentification and psychological maladjustment was higher in female students than male students. Finally, the results of this study suggest that school counseling services must implement a program for treating cases of parentification in adolescents.
