청소년이 지각하는 부정적 양육경험과 우울과의 관계: 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 학교 내 대인관계의 다중매개효과

초록

본 연구에서는 청소년이 지각하는 부모의 방임 및 학대와 우울 간의 관계에서 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 학교 내 대인관계의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구를 위해 한국아동ㆍ청소년패널조사 2010의 초4 패널 5차∼7차년 자료를 사용하였다. 자료는 구조방정식 모형을 활용하여 분석되었으며, 분석 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 중2 시기의 부정적 양육경험은 중3 시기의 학교 내 대인관계를 매개하여 고1 시기의 우울에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중2 시기의 부정적 양육경험은 중3 시기의 자아존중감과 학교 내 대인관계를 순차적으로 매개하여 고1 시기의 우울에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 중2 시기의 부정적 양육 경험은 중3 시기의 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 학교 내 대인관계를 순차적으로 매개하여 고1 시기의 우울에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 성별에 따른 경로계수의 차이에서 남학생은 자아존중감에서 사회적 위축으로 가는 경로, 자아존중감에서 학교 내 대인관계로 가는 경로에서 더 높게 나타났으며, 여학생은 학교 내 대인관계에서 우울로 가는 경로에서 부적인 영향이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 청소년 우울을 감소시키기 위해서 자아존중감, 사회적 위축, 학교 내 대인관계 문제를 포괄적으로 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 마지막으로 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 우울의 예방과 개입, 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the longitudinal mediating effects of self-esteem, social withdrawal, and interpersonal relationships in school on the relationship between neglect, abuse and depression of adolescents. Data were collected from 2,351 students who participated in the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) at 3 different time points(T1=2st grade in middle school, T2=3st grade in middle school, T3=1st grade in high school). Collected data were analyzed with structural equation modeling, and bootstrapping technique was applied to test the mediating effects. The results of the study were as follows. First, the negative parenting experience in T1 was mediated by the interpersonal relationships in T2, which affected the depression of T3. Second, the negative parenting experience of T1 was found to affect the depression of T3 by sequentially mediating the self-esteem and interpersonal relationships in T2. Third, the negative parenting experience in T1 affected the depression of T3 by sequentially mediating self-esteem, social atrophy, and interpersonal relationships in T2. Fourth, in the difference of the path coefficient according to gender, boys showed higher in the path from self-esteem to social atrophy, from self-esteem to interpersonal relationship in school, and girls in the path from interpersonal relationship to depression in school Negative effects were found to be higher. These findings suggest that in order to reduce adolescent depression, self-esteem, social atrophy, and interpersonal relationships in schools need to be considered comprehensively. Finally, based on the research results, we discussed the prevention, intervention, and implications of adolescent depression.
