『李志恒漂海錄』의 異本과 記述 방식 연구 －『漂舟錄』과의 비교를 겸하여－

Abstract

This study examines the various editions of Drifting Record of Lee Jihang (Lee Jihang p’yohaerok, 『李志恒漂海錄』) with a focus on the methods of composition. Although this is not the first time this book is examined, no new studies exist on this record due to a lack of subsequent research. In summary, this study’s findings are as follows: A higher-quality edition of Drifting Record of Lee Jihang has been discovered and basic information on the contents and format of the various editions of the record has been formulated. In addition, a comparison of Drifting Record of Lee Jihang with Record of a Drifting Ship(P’yojurok, 『漂舟錄』) demonstrates that the latter is an abridged secondary source of the former, correcting the mistaken view that Record of a Drifting Ship was a primary source written by Lee Jihang. The study also deduced how the original edition of Drifting Record written by Lee, which has not survived, might have looked like. Furthermore, the study deduced the method of composition of Drifting Record of Lee Jihang and discussed the significance of abridging and rewriting the text in the process of its circulation and dissemination.
