유아의 부정적 정서기질과 어머니의 우울, 온정적 양육행동과 유아 문제행동간의 구조모형 분석

초록

본 연구는 유아의 부정적 정서기질과 어머니의 우울이 어머니의 온정적 양육행동을 매개로 유아문제행동에 영향을 미치는지 검증하고, 유아의 성별에 따라 남아집단과 여아집단 간에 구조모형에 차이가 있는지 검증하기 위해 이루어졌다. 연구대상은 한국아동패널 5차년도 자료수집에 참여한 만4세 유아 1,627명과 그의 어머니이다. 유아문제행동과 이에 영향 미치는 관련 변인들 간의 구조적 관계 검증을 위해 구조방정식 모형분석을 실시하고, 유아 성별에 따른 집단간 차이 검증을 위해 다집단 분석을 실시하였다. 연구문제에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 부정적 정서기질과 어머니의 우울이 유아문제행동에 직접적으로 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 유아의 부정적 정서성과 어머니의 우울수준이 높을수록 통계적으로 유의하게 유아의 문제행동이 증가하였다. 둘째, 유아의 부정적 정서기질과 어머니의 우울은 어머니의 온정적 양육행동을 매개로 유아문제행동에 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 유아의 부정적 정서성과 어머니의 우울은 어머니의 온정적 양육행동을 감소시켜 결국 유아의 문제행동을 증가시켰다. 셋째, 다집단 분석 실시 결과, 남아집단과 여아집단 간에 변인들의 인과구조에 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 유아의 문제행동을 예방하고 감소시키기 위한 다양한 개입 방안과 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of parenting behavior between preschooler’s emotional temperament, mother’s depression and preschooler’s problem behaviors, and to find group differences by preschooler’s gender in structural relationships. The participants were 1,627 preschoolers and their mothers who participated in the 5st Korean Child Panel Survey. A structural equation model was established and analyzed to estimate the path from temperament, mother’s depression to problem behavior with the mediating variable of parenting behavior. The main results were as follows: First, emotional temperament and mother’s depression had significant direct influence on problem behaviors. Second, emotional temperament and mother’s depression showed a statistically significant impact on problem behavior indicating the mediating effect of parenting behavior. Third, there was no group differences by preschooler’s gender in structural relationships. Based on these findings, some implications for preventing preschooler’s problem behaviors were discussed.
