어머니의 우울 변화궤적:결혼만족도의 영향과 자녀 행동에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구의 목적은 출산 후 8년간 어머니의 우울이 변화하는지 그 변화궤적을 살펴봄에 있다. 출산 후 8년이 지나고 어머니의 우울 변화궤적에 어떠한 변화가 있는지 살펴보고, 그 변화궤적에 영향을 주는 요인을 살펴보았다. 예측요인으로는 어머니의 결혼만족도를, 결과요인으로는 아동 문제의 내재화와 외현화를 설정하였고 잠재성장모형을 사용하여 분석하였다. 자료는 한국육아정책연구소 아동패널의 종단자료를 활용하였다. 2008년 1차년도 자료부터 2015년 8차년도 자료에서 어머니의 우울수준이 매해 측정되어 8년 동안의 우울점수를 사용하였다. 잠재성장모형을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 출산 후 8년 간 어머니의 우울 변화궤적의 초기값과 변화율은 유의미하였으며, 감소하는 방향으로 나타났다. 둘째, 우울 변화궤적의 초기값과 기울기에 어머니의 결혼만족도가 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울 변화궤적의 초기값과 기울기는 아동 문제의 내재화와 외현화에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 함의점, 후속연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the longitudinal changes of maternal depression for 8 years, after birth till the children become 8 years old, using latent growth modeling. This study also investigated whether marital relationship satisfaction influenced the change trajectories of maternal depression and whether the change trajectories of maternal depression impacted the children’s internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors. The data from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) were used (from the 1st year to 8th year). The results showed that the change trajectory of maternal depression was significant. Maternal depression decreased for 8 years after child’s birth. Marital relationship satisfaction of mothers influenced the intercept and slope of the depression change trajectory. This change trajectory of decreasing maternal depression influenced the internalizing and externalizing behaviors of their children. Based on these results, implications for parent education, family education, and family counseling and therapy, and future research directions are discussed.
