정신지체학교 중등 재학생의 실제적 기술 연구

이 연구는 정신지체 중등학생 562명의 적응행동 기술 중 실제적 기술 영역에 대한 발달 현황을 분석한 것이다. 검사도구는 파라다이스 한국표준 적응행동검사를 사용하였다. 연구의 결과에 의하면 특수학교에 재학하고 있는 정신지체 중등학생의 실제적 기술 평균은 36점 만점에 5.58점이었는데, 이는 비장애 초등학생의 실제적 기술 평균이 남학생의 경우 25.40, 여학생의 경우 26.45를 보인 것과 비교하여 볼 때, 매우 차이가 나는 것이다. 연구결과에 의하면 정신지체 중등학생의 경우 이들이 만 18세가 되어도 만 6세의 비장애학생이 수행하는 적응행동 검사 점수의 절반 정도 수준 밖에 도달하지 않는다. 따라서 정신지체 중등학생의 실제적 기술 능력향상을 위해서는 교과위주의 수업뿐만 아니라 적응행동을 향상시킬 수 있는 보다 구체화된 개별화 교육이 진행되어야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out development of practical skills of 562 children with mental retardation who were in secondary special schools. The test tool was Paradise Korea Standard Adaptive Behavior Scale. The results of this study indicated that children with mental retardation at the secondary special schools acquired mean of 5.58 out of 36 in the 18 practical skill questionnaires. This mean is lower results than that of children with non-handicapped who are in the general elementary schools. This result showed that children with mental retardation at the secondary special schools need more experiences of learning for their practical skills in schools and their homes.
