The trust on health information from the media in patients with diabetes

초록

대중들은 언론매체를 통해 많은 건강정보를 얻게 된다. 이 연구는 당뇨병 환자들이 언론 매체를 통해 얻게 되는 당뇨병에 대한 건강정보를 얼마나 신뢰하는지 알아보기 위하여 시행하였다. 연구는 중앙대학교병원에서 진료를 받는 2형 당뇨병 환자 201명(나이 22-79세, 남자 135명, 여자 66명)을 대상으로 언론 매체 접촉 시간과 매체로부터 얻는 건강정보의 신뢰 정도를 설문을 통해 알아보았다. 조사 결과 남자가 여자보다 TV나 신문으로부터 얻는 건강정보를 덜 신뢰하는 것으로 나타났으며 대상자의 나이, 교육 정도, 수입에 따른 신뢰도 차이는 없었다. 정보 신뢰도는 건강정보를 많이 접할수록 신뢰도가 높았으며 정보의 질이 높을수록 신뢰하였다. 그러나 매체 접촉 시간과 해당 매체의 신뢰도 정도와는 관련이 없었다. 결론적으로 노인 당뇨병 환자들은 인터넷보다 신문이나 TV에서 건강정보를 더 많이 얻는 것으로 나타났으며 각 매체는 질 높은 건강정보 제공의 필요성이 있다.
