교육적 오락물에서의 수용자 관여와 그 선행변수들: KBS 2 '부부 클리닉'의 에피소드 및 전자게시판 메시지 분석을 중심으로

이 연구는 한 교육적 오락물(entertainment-education) 드라마의 에피소드 및 그 드라마의 전자게시판 메시지를 내용 분석함으로써 수용자 관여(audience involvement)와 그 선행변수들 간의 관계를 규명하고자 했다. 그 결과‘에피소드 토픽’과‘이슈의 논란성’(issue controversy)은‘행위적 참여’(전화조사 참여 및 메시지 기고)뿐만 아니라‘의사사회적 상호작용’(parasocial interaction) 및 ‘회상’(reflection)과 연관이 있음이 밝혀졌다. 또한 이 연구는 기존 미디어의 오락 및 교육 기능과 사이버(cyber) 미디어의 정보 및 토론장 제공 기능을 결합함으로써 교육적 오락물을 보다 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 활용 가능성도 발견했다.
Abstract
This study, analyzing an entertainment-education drama’s episodes and bulletin board messages about the episodes, explored the relationship between audience involvement and its antecedents. Episode topic and issue controversy were associated with parasocial interaction and reflection as well as behavioral responses (poll participation and message contribution). This study also found the possibility that entertainment-education interventions could be effectively executed by combining old media’sentertainment and education function and cyber media’s information and discussion forum providing function.
