Background : This study aimed to analyze the relationships among communication, social emotional competence, team efficacy, and college life adaptation in medical students to find ways to assist them in adapting to university life. Methods : Data was collected from 133 second-year pre-med students using an online questionnaire to measure communication, social emotional competence, team efficacy, and college life adaptation. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, difference analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. Results : No significant gender differences were found for any of the variables(p > .05). A positive correlation was observed among communication, social emotional competence, team efficacy, and college life adaptation(p < .05). Among the sub-variables of social emotional competence, intra-personal competence and team efficacy were found to significantly influence college life adaptationConclusion : This study revealed that intra-personal competence and team efficacy are core factors for medical students’ college life adaptation. This suggests the need for an integrated approach in medical education to foster students’ cognitive, emotional, and social competencies simultaneously. The findings of this study can be used as foundational data for the design and development of future medical education programs and university support systems.
