초록
This study proposes a CAN-based remote firmware update method for multi-core DSPs. Using inter-processor communication (IPC), the architecture allows one core to handle CAN communication and perform its own update while coordinating updates across other cores. Upon receiving a specific CAN key message, the DSP enters update mode without power cycling, enabling seamless and robust updates. Implemented on the TMS320F28377D platform, the method supports a two-stage update process CPU1 followed by CPU2 while employing a RAM function approach to avoid system resets during firmware writing. Experimental results show successful updates using a Windows-based HMI, with update times of 15.5 seconds for CPU1 (24,202 bytes) and 5.7 seconds for CPU2 (8,834 bytes). The proposed method enhances maintainability through independent core updates and addresses limitations of single-core update methods.
