포스트모던사회와 통일교 -최근 통일교 변화를 중심으로-

1990년대 이후 포스트모더니즘에 대한 관심이 약화된 것은 주지의 사실이다. 본 논문은 포스트모더니즘이 통일교와 어떠한 관계를 가졌으며, 어떠한 영향을 주었는가에 대한 연구이다. 그런데, 통일교는 분명히 신종교이지만 그 규모나 활동의 영역이 기성 종교보다 더 왕성한 활동을 하고 있으며, 현재 창교자가 직접 모든 업무를 지시하고 교육하는 교회이기 때문에 그 한계를 규명하기가 어렵다. 본 논문은 포스트모더니즘과 통일교가 지향하는 유사한 내용을 다섯 가지로 구분하여 설명하고 있다. 첫째, 종교 다원주의에 대한 수용, 둘째, 통일교 원리강론의 환경친화적인 내용, 셋째, 통일교는 심정문화의 종교로서 기존 종교의 틀을 뛰어 넘는 종교의 모습을 갖고 있는 다양성이 있는 종교라는 점, 넷째, 통일교는 문화, 예술, 체육 등을 강조하는 심미적 교회의 모습을 지향하고 있다는 점, 끝으로 통일교에서 실시하는 축복의식은 인종과 종족의 벽을 뛰어 넘는 결혼의식으로 지구촌 가족을 지향하고 있다는 점은 포스트모더니즘과 동류의식을 느낄 수 있는 내용이다. 다음으로, 최근 통일교의 변화를 크게 나누어 교단의 섭리 목표와 교회의식의 변화로 나누어 설명하고 있다. 교단의 섭리 목표의 변화는 1990년대 이후 성약시대의 선포, 통일교에서 가정연합시대로의 변화 그리고 천일국 시대의 선포 등을 설명하고 있으며, 교회의식의 변화는 최근 축복의식의 대중화, 기도 말미의 변화 그리고 통일교 예배가 훈독회와 훈독가정교회 예배로 변화하고 있다는 것이다. 이러한 변화는 시대적인 조류에 대한 영향도 있지만 창교자의 섭리적 안목과 천운에 따른 것이다.
Abstract
Since then 1990's, people's concerns about postmodernism were weakened, but this article is researching on what postmodernism affects on the Unification church and what kind of relationship was established. Even though the Unification church is a new religion, its scales and the area of activities are more wider and active than the protestant and catholic church. It is hard to examine the limitation of the Unification church because founder of Unification church instructs all operations and educates church members now. This dissertation explains similar intentions between Postmodernism and the Unification church. Firstly, the acceptance of pluralism, secondly, the contents of eco-justice of the Unification church. Thirdly, The Unification church is the religion of shimjung culture. Besides, The Unification church surpasses the frame of the past religions because it has diversity. Fourthly, The Unification church intends to be an aesthetic feature, and it emphasizes culture, art, athletic, etc. Finally, The blessing ceremony of the Unification church a global wedding ceremony and surpasses the wall of a human race and a clan. This fact proves consciousness of kind between postmodernism and the Unification church. In addition, on the recent alterations of the Unification church, I would like to explain with two devided categories that are the goal of divine providence of the religious association and alterations of church ceremony. The changes of a goal of divine providence of the religious association are the proclamation of Complete Testament after 1990's, The Unification church to the era of Family Federation, and the proclamation of the era of Cheonilguk. The alterations of church ritual are the popularization of blessing ceremony, the change of end of prayers, and the changes of the sunday services of The Unification church that has been switched to Hundokhoi and sunday services of Hundok family church.
