초록

Hongam(弘巖) received Dangun Scriptures from Baekbong without knowing why he was selected. And it is so mysterious and fortunate to have the Dangun Scriptures in modern Korea. I personally judge essential for Dangun Theology, at least three documents: Samilsingo, Sinsagi, and Seongkyeongpalli. These Dangun literatures, which has been passed down directly from Baekbong, is the primary literature in the Dangun theology. And the literature of Hongam and Daejonggyo is the secondary one. In this paper, as the first step for Dangun theology I analyze Samilsingo among the Baekbong literature, and try to have the English translation and comprehension of the Samilsin go, and my just next step is to Sinsagi. When the English translation and comprehension of all three of these documents are completed, the Dangun theology through Baekbong literature is expected to have a system to some extent. The establishment of the Dangun theology through Western concepts is a necessary task to promote Korean indigenous religion to the world, or to globalize the Korean religious culture. This paper is only the beginning for the establishment of the Dangun theology, but I hope that many English understanding researchers who are interested in Korean religion, philosophy and culture will participate in the debate and in the formation of K-Religion.
