초록
This study starts from survey on various techniques for surface treatment and finishing process used by some top-notch contemporary textile designers. Clues and tips derived from this survey made it possible for me to design textiles with strong relief effects. And the outcomes of these experiments led me to provide a process model for planning and designing textile samples both with aesthetic effects and practical utilities. Proceeding with this experiment, I also tried various colors to maximize relief effects. The design processes experimented in this study are as follows:1) I made various samples with interesting relief effects by applying appropriate finishing processes on double-layers woven fabrics and knitted fabrics. 2) I weaved wool, polyester, silk yarns together into sample fabrics and enhanced their relief effects using post-processing methods such as thermo-compresssion, wet processing, hand- pleating. 3) I made jacquard woven and jacquard knit fabrics using strong twisted silk yarns, thermoplastic synthetic yarns and wools together, and identified some possibility of developing new textile designs for home and commercial interiors by finishing them using natural dyes.
