The purpose of the study conducted and reported in this work in writing is to examine mature religious freedom and the realization of the Republic of Korea, bearing on freedom of the faithful and the confessional autonomy through the clarity of their rights and the rights of the Church. First and foremost, it attempted to study international law on religious freedom. In particular, the efforts of Western nations to seek harmony between church and nation were sequentially shown from the past. Through this, matter of autonomy of religious denomination to bear individual freedom of the confessional is also highlighted. Then, Modernity and religious freedom is investigated. According to this, it could grasp the Collapse of totalitarianism and sunset jurisdictionalism in relations with the Churches. After these perceptual experience, the remaining forms of benevolent jurisdictionalism were investigated, which played a significant role to denominational bodies created by state law and conditioning of Churches to freely confess one’s faith. The intersection between freedom and autonomy of the church, which is public financing of Churches were also investigated. Through all these processes, prospects for reform harmony between rights of the State and rights of the Churches, realize the mature freedom of religion in the Republic of Korea, the faithful and the confessional to all citizens will be contributed.
Abstract
The purpose of the study conducted and reported in this work in writing is to examine mature religious freedom and the realization of the Republic of Korea, bearing on freedom of the faithful and the confessional autonomy through the clarity of their rights and the rights of the Church.
