본 연구는 어머니와 유아의 사회적 편견은 어떠하며 어머니와 유아의 사회적 편견간의 관계는 어떠한지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 4․5세 남녀 유아 200명과 그들의 어머니 200명이었다. 본 연구결과, 첫째, 어머니는 성역할, 장애, 능력, 가족구성, 다른 문화 순으로 편견이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 어머니의 학력이 높을수록 사회적 편견이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아는 성역할, 능력, 장애, 가족구성, 다른 문화 순으로 편견이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 여아가 남아에 비해 가족구성에 대한 사회적 편견이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 사회적 편견이 유아의 사회적 편견의 5개 하위영역과 부분적으로 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationships between the mother's and children's social prejudices. The subjects of the study were 200 children aged 4 and 5, both male and female, and their mothers. The research had three major findings First, the mothers showed their social prejudice gender role, disability, capability, family composition and different culture in order. The mothers' social prejudice showed significant differences according to their education level. Second, the children showed their social prejudice gender role, capability, disability, family composition and different culture in order. They, showed significant differences in the prejudice on family composition. Third, in examing the relationships of the prejudices between the mothers and the children, the mothers' social prejudice was partly related to that of the children in the 5 areas.
