With the rapid growth of the chinese economy, interests in the traditional culture of chinese ethnic minorities are increasing. The purpose of this study is to develop a unique knit design by analyzing the propitious meaning of traditional Zang-style patterns. Zang-style propitious pattern consists of four different types of patterns: geometric patterns, natural symbol patterns, religious patterns and letter patterns. The new knit product developed by utilizing the meaning of the reinterpretation of Tashi Tagye is more dynamic. The harmony and expansion designed on the basis of traditional propitiou spatterns can represent differentiated values of traditional culture. This research is important for the universalization of Tibetan research and continued development of the diversity of contemporary aesthetics.
