Abstract
Triangular Economic Cooperation between South Korea, North Korea & Russia Bae, Soo-han (Dongseo University) Since South Korea and Russia normalized diplomatic relationship in 1990, exchanges in various human resources and economic cooperation areas have been increasing rapidly. However, the recent Northern policy of South Korea with the policies of Russia's Putin government stance on putting more value in the far-east development of Siberia, help set a new stage for developing South Korean-Russian relationship. South Korea, North Korea and Russia, are having the best opportunity of triangular economic cooperation. South Korea has the capital and technology to develop the Far East and Siberian regions of Russia, while North Korea has the manpower, and Putin’s government expressed the strong will to develop this area. The situation is already appeared to be made where economic cooperation among South Korea - North Korea - Russia can be established in the Northeast Asian Region. This is the reason why economic cooperation projects among the three countries should be actively developed. Focusing on the Far East & Siberia regions of Russia, this report tries to analyze the current status, as well as prospects of triangular economic cooperation among South Korea, North Korea and Russia.
