초록
I developed a modern padded vest design inspired by various gits (collars) from traditional Korean costumes to create high-value-added fashion cultural products with traditional Korean elements for the global market. This approach aims to globalize traditional Korean culture and align with contemporary international trends in the era of internationalization. I first conducted a theoretical literature survey on Korean costume designs and designed a vest using Adobe Illustrator 2023. The Yuka program was used to create the pattern, and CLO 7.0 (CLO Virtual Fashion's 3D virtual dressing system) was used for 3D virtual fitting. A survey was also conducted to gauge respondents’ interest in fashion cultural products. This study focuses on five collar types, including the mockpan-git (wooden board collar), Kal-git (knife collar), dangko-git (dangko collar), dunggeule-git (round collar) and mat-git (facing collar). These collar types were selected for their varied shapes in traditional Korean costumes. They were examined as reference data for design development, emphasizing incorporating their unique characteristics into modern fashion designs. My goal is for the proposed lightweight padded vest design to be used for industrialization as a new fashion cultural product and to continue research into developing novel fashion cultural products.
Abstract
I developed a modern padded vest design inspired by various gits (collars) from traditional Korean costumes to create high-value-added fashion cultural products with traditional Korean elements for the global market. The Yuka program was used to create the pattern, and CLO 7.0 (CLO Virtual Fashion's 3D virtual dressing system) was used for 3D virtual fitting. A survey was also conducted to gauge respondents’ interest in fashion cultural products.
