금계천 하류부(경상북도 영주시 풍기읍)에 선상지 기원의 기후 단구로 추정되는 하안 단구가 모식적으로 형성되어 있으며, 이들은 고위면, 중위면, 저위면으로 분류되었다. 역의 풍화 정도, 토양의 적색화 정도 등을 기존 연구 결과와 대비해 본 결과, 고위면은 Mindel 빙기, 중위면은 Riss 빙기, 저위면은 W?rm 빙기에 형성된 것으로 추정되었다.
Abstract
In the lower reach of Kumgye-Cheon, which is located in Pounggi-Up, Youngju-Si, Kyungsangpuck-Do, the typical river terraces are formed. They are regarded as climatic terraces which originated in alluvial fans and are classified with the High, the Middle and the Lower terraces. By the comparison of the gravel weathering conditions and the red colour of the surface soil with this area and those of the established reports, it can be carefully inferred that the High terraces were formed in the Mindel, the Middle in the Riss, the Lower in the W?rm Ice Ages respectively.
