교육과정으로서의 성경교육과 실제성의 원리

초록

본 연구의 목적은 현대 한국교회가 않고 있는 여러 가지 문제 중 하나인 사회에 대하여 영향력을 잃어가고 젊은이들이 교회를 떠나는 현상들을 바라보면서 여기에 대한 대안을 제시하고자한다. 오늘날 한국교회와 기독교교육은 위기를 맞고 있다. 오늘 한국교회가 직면하고 있는 문제는 기독교 중심 진리로부터 이탈과 함께 기독교의 독자성과 배타성의 상실은 기독교교육의 문제이기도 하다. 교육 현장에서 많은 젊은이들이 교회를 떠나는 큰 이유 중의 하나가 기독교에 대한 관심이 없어서가 아니라 신앙교육의 부재와 교회가 그들에게 접근하는 교육의 방법이 잘못되었기 때문이다. 즉, 오늘의 한국교회 모습은 신학이 뒷받침 되는 기독교교육의 본질적인 원리는 퇴색하고 대신에 교육활동의 부차적인 요소와 문화적 코드에 더 중요시하여 치중하는 경향이다. 그렇다고 모든 교회가 그렇다고 하는 것은 아니다. 많은 교회들이 말씀중심에 서서 세상이 빛이 되고자 몸부림을 치고 있다. 이 시점에서 기독교교육은 교육현장에 새로운 방향을 제시할 필요성과 함께 올바른 변화로 이끌어야 할 책임이 요구 된다. 기독교교육을 통해서 무엇을 가르쳐야 하는가 하는 것은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 한국교회가 실제성의 원리를 원천으로 하는 교육과정으로서의 과제를 가지고 있다면 분명히 연구되어야 할 학문적 과제중의 하나임에는 틀림이 없다. 교육과정으로서의 성경교육의 중요성을 더욱 강조하고 그 의미를 더욱 부각시켜야 할 것이다. 그리고 기독교교육은 위기에 처해있는 교회와 그리스도인을 세우는데 도움을 주어야 한다. 그러므로 본 연구는 교육에 대한 시대적인 요청과 상황의 변화를 수용하면서 기독교교육에 올바른 방법론적인 실제적 이론을 형성하고 방향을 찾는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 목적을 위하여 먼저 영향력을 잃어가는 현대 교회의 문제점을 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 두 번째로 오늘의 기독교교육과 교육과정이 기독교적 삶을 위한 교회교육 교육과정으로서 성경교육을 하는데 어떠한 역할을 하여야 하는지 살펴볼 것이다. 그런 다음 한국교회가 처해 있는 현실을 바라보면서 성경이 표준이 되는 실제성의 원리를 원천으로 하는 성경교육에 대하여 논하게 될 것이다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine one of the problems that the Korean church is facing and offer suggestions on the issue of the church losing influence in the trend of young people leaving the church. The church and protestant Christianity is facing peril in Korea. The critical problems facing the Korean church today are in its declining congregation and its departure from the exclusivity of Christian truth. These problems are also at the center of current Christian education. Many young people are leaving the church. One of the major reasons this is happening is not because of a lack of interest in Christianity but the deficiencies in Christian education and the inappropriate methodologies for this education. The Korean church has lost its focus on Christian education theory and have replaced it with programs that are trying simply to cater to the current societal culture of young people. It is within this confusion of Christian identity that the Korean church currently finds itself with the need to develop a new paradigm of Christian education that stays true to Christian teachings while also reaching out to the needs of young people. What to teach through Christian education in the church is of paramount importance. There is no question as to the importance of researching educational methodologies in the development of a practical theological curriculum. The church must provide proper biblical education. The importance of biblical education and its meaning must be strengthened and highlighted. This education must help strengthen both the church and its members. Alternatives must be suggested as to how this education can be offered. Therefore, this study focuses on finding new practical educational methodologies that embrace both Christian education principles and the cultural needs of young people. For the aim of this study, an initial examination will be performed on the problems that the Korean church is facing that has caused it to lose influence. Following this examination, this study will look into what role the church and its curriculum must play in its education geared toward helping its members lead a more Christian life. Finally, there will be a discussion on the return to a bible-centered education in the face of the decline in the Korean church.
