이 글은 교회의 예배를 하나님 나라의 관점으로 다룬 것이다. 예배에 있어서 하나님 나라는 여러 예배 신학적 주제 중의 한 주제가 아니라, 예배의 본질과 핵심을 가장 잘 드러낼 수 있는 필수적인 주제다. 특별히 하나님 나라의 종말론적 주제와 메시지는 예배의 모든 요소들이 총동원되어 표현해내려고 하는 예배의 기본 바탕색이요, 중심 줄기다. 하나님 나라를 그리스도인들은 천국 또는 낙원으로 부르고, 영적으로 환난과 핍박 중에 있는 자신들이 바라볼 영원한 도피성이라고 확신하면서 그 세계를 꿈꾸고 대망하는 신앙을 갖는다. 그런데 이 신앙이 때론 현세를 부정하고 급박한 재림신앙을 강조하는 이단적 메시지와 만나면 한국교회의 역사와 오늘 현장에서 보듯 교회의 본질을 왜곡하고 위협하는 일들이 발생한다. 이것이 무엇보다도 하나님 나라에 대한 이해가 우선되어야하는 이유다. 즉, 하나님 나라는 예배 신학 중심주제로서 건강한 교회의 예배를 이루기 위해서 바른 이해가 필요한 것이다. 이 글은 먼저 하나님 나라에 대한 총체적이고 개괄적인 이해로부터 시작한다. 그 후에 하나님 나라로서의 교회의 성격을 예배적 관점으로 설명한다. 이어서 세계 교회가 가진 예배 이해의 다양성을 고찰함으로 하나님 나라 사상이 통합적이고 균형 있는 시각으로 다루어져야할 것을 확인한다. 그 다음으로 하나님 나라 예배의 환경, 즉 시간, 공간, 언어의 의미와 범위를 규명한다. 마지막으로 하나님 나라를 표현하는 바른 예배가 지녀야할 예배의 성격을 제시함으로 미래 한국교회 바른 예배를 위한 예배 신학적 근거들을 마련한다. 결론에서 그리스도들 모두가 예배에서 하나님의 계시와 임재에 적극적으로 응답하고, 하나님 나라를 선포하는 동시에 대망하는 예전적 참여와 경험을 할 수 있을 때, 여기에서 하나님 나라로서의 교회와 하나님 백성으로의 회중이 밝게 드러나고 새 하늘과 새 땅을 향한 순례의 도정에서 믿음 사랑 소망의 끈을 붙잡고 나아갈 수 있음을 강조한다.
Abstract
This article is a critical reflection on christian worship in point of view of the kingdom of God. Worship requires the understanding of the kingdom of God to acknowledge its essence and nature. Especially the eschatological theme and message is the core of worship. The intricate and complicated views of the kingdom of God may result in the distorted view of worship. This article begins with the understanding of the kingdom of God, comparing heavenly worship and church worship. Chapter II explains the various understanding of worship and suggests a theological understanding of worship of the kingdom of God; the sovereignty of God, sacramental character, community, and eschatological character. Chapter III is about the environments of worship that include time, space, and language. The language in worship is important and, in essential, should be sacramental language which holds inclusive, aesthetic, metaphoric, creative, prophetic, and therapeutic elements. The five characteristics of worship of kingdom are worship as sacramental mystery, worship as eschatological judgement and promise, worship as holistic aesthetics, worship as unity and maturity of body of Christ, and diakonic worship.
