초록
The origin of rock slopes in the Korean Peninsula which is generally recognized as tectonically stable, has long been explained qualitatively from the view of physical and chemical weathering characteristics of rock materials. This study attempts to find factors influencing the development of rock slopes in tectonically stable regions using a 1-dimensional numerical hillslope evolution model. According to our results, development of rock slopes in the areas with low uplift rates requires a long-term basal incision by river. Especially, continuous bedrock landsliding leads to a rock-dominated hillslope. In addition, higher decay constant in soil production function and non-linear transport model accelerate the development of rock slopes. The humped soil production function turns out to respond more sensitively to the condition of low incision rates than hitherto expected, eventually causing rock slope development.
