본고에서는 독일 실천신학자인 헬무트 쉬비어(Helmut Schwier)의 미학적 예배와 신학적 사고를 자극하는 설교 방법론을 소개하고 있다. 한국교회가 열린 예배를 신학적 검토와 비판 없이 교회에 받아들이면서 예전적 예배가 많이 약화하였다. 디트리히 본회퍼(Dietrich Bonhoeffer)가 던진 질문 ‘오늘날을 위한 예수 그리스도는 누구인가?’라는 질문은 조직신학뿐만 아니라 실천실학에서도 중요한 신학적 주제이다. 예배와 설교에서 예수 그리스도가 현대인에게 누구인지를 분명히 나타나야 한다. 그리고 감정만을 자극하는 방식이 아닌 미학적 접근방식으로 예배를 구상할 줄 알아야 하고, 회중이 진리를 자연스럽게 인지할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 그리고 수용미학적으로 회중이 예배 안에서 성서와 예수 그리스도를 어떻게 인식하는지에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 현대인의 인식에 맞추어서 예전의 갱신이 일어나야 하고, 회중의 신학적 사고를 자극할 수 있는 설교 방법론을 개발해야 한다. 설교자는 ‘아멘’을 강조하는 방식이 아닌 평신도의 신학적 사고를 자극해야 한다. 이 설교 방법론에서 중요한 것은 ‘질문’이다. 설교자는 설교하면서 짧게나마 답변을 생각해 볼 수 있는 시간을 주어야 하고, 설교자는 왜 그렇게 믿고 행동해야 하는지에 대한 답변을 말하면서 사고의 길에서 평신도와 동행해야 한다. 헬무트 쉬비어는 예배와 설교는 하나임을 강조한다. 수용미학적 관점에서 예배를 갱신하되, 강대상을 극장식으로 바꾸는 예배 갱신이 아닌 예전 갱신이 일어나야 한다. 회중은 예수 그리스도가 오늘날 우리에게 누구인지를 인식하면서 설교를 통해서 그들의 신학적 사고를 발전시켜야 한다. 한국교회의 평신도가 주체적으로 신학적 사고를 할 때 비로소 풍성한 신학적 사고관을 가지고 세상 안에서 기독교인답게 살아갈 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study introduces German Practical Theologian Helmut Schwier’s preaching methodology that stimulates aesthetic worship and theological thought. As Korean churches adopted ‘The Seeker Service’ without theological review or criticism, ceremonial worship has weakened a lot. ‘Who Jesus Christ is today’ thrown by Dietrich Bonhoeffer is an important theological subject in practical theology as well as in systematic theology. Who Jesus Christ is to modern people should appear clearly in both worship and preaching. And now, it is necessary to conceive worship from aesthetic approach rather than from emotion-stimulating one. The congregation should be made to recognize the truth in a natural way. It is time to study how the congregation recognize the Bible and Jesus Christ within the worship from the reception aesthetics point of view. And the ceremonial worship should be improved according to the recognition of modern people. And the preaching methodology that can stimulate the theological thought of congregation should be developed. Now, ordinary believers should be able to think theologically in an independent way rather than emphasizing ‘amen’ at preaching hours. What is important in this preaching methodology is asking questions. Preachers should give time to think about an answer to people briefly. Also, preachers should go with the ordinary believers on the way to thought about why they believe and behave so. Worship and preaching are the same thing. Worship should be improved from the reception aesthetics point of view, but the ceremonial improvement should be pursued rather than trying to change pulpit into a theater-style. The congregation should develop their theological thought through preaching, recognizing what Jesus Christ means to us today. Only when the congregation think in a theological way by themselves, they will be able to live as Christians within this world with rich theological thinking.
