기독교상담자에게 필요한 언어의 특징을 Freud와 Lacan을 중심으로 분석했다. 내담자와 기독교상담자에게 개인의 경험과 신앙이 언어로 구성되어 있기 때문이다. 그리고 양자는 인간을 말하는 주체로 간주하기 때문이다. Freud는 의미를 강조했다. 특히, 단어와 대상의 연합으로 의미를 이해하지만, 말도 대상에 포함시켰다. 인간 언어의 다중성을 강조했다. 상담자가 내담자의 말에서 의미를 명료화하고 수정하는 해석을 강조했다. 이것은 내담자 중심으로 이루어지는데, 논리적 일관성, 이론적 적합성, 내담자의 상황이나 소원과의 적합성, 내담자의 수용가능성 등을 포함했다. Lacan은 내담자의 말을 기표로 접근했다. 그것은 대상과 분리되어 있고, 다른 기표를 의미하면서 연쇄고리를 형성하고, 전체 구조에 따라 잠정적 의미를 발생한다고 주장했다. 그리고 기표를 주체로 주장했다. 내담자의 말은 내담자 자신만을 말하기 때문에, 내담자가 사용하는 신앙의 언어도 내담자에 대해 말할 뿐이다. 상담자의 해석에서, 내담자는 자신의 말에 포함되어 있는 의도나 욕망의 진실을 스스로 찾고, 그것을 수정하고, 주체가 된다. 상담에서 사용하는 언어에 대한 Freud와 Lacan의 이해의 분석을 근거로, 기독교상담자의 언어에 대한 4개 시사점을 제시했다. 첫째, 상담관계의 영역을 명확하게 하는 언어를 사용한다. 둘째, 내담자에게 말에 대한 기대와 신뢰를 증진한다. 셋째, 내담자가 자신의 말에서 자신의 소원과 의미를 스스로 찾도록 촉진한다. 넷째, 내담자의 말을 따라가며 그 의미의 전환을 촉진하는 언어적 기술을 사용한다.
Abstract
Functional features of Christian counselors’ language were constructed on the basis of analysis of Freud’s and Lacan’s theories on language. Because their and their clients’ experience and faith were consisted of language and both Freud and Lacan posited that a person is the subject speaking herself. Freud focused on meaning, which is produced from association of word and object. Later he suggested its overdeterminatin, which implied that a word is possible to be associated with another word representation. And he suggested that interpretation is clarification or modification of a client’s own meaning. It was supposed to be carried out in terms of the client’s perspective, including logical coherence, theoretical compatibility, suitability to the person’s context and wish, the person’s acceptability, and so on. Lacan posited human speech is a signifier. It was supposed to be separated from its object, to signify another signifier, to construct its meaning momentarily with provoking a chain with other signifiers. And he posited that the subject is a signifier expressing herself. A client’s speech of faith is supposed to express only herself. His interpretation was supposed to let the client find the empty nature of her subjectivity and desire and to become the subject. Based on the analysis of both theorists’ positions, 4 suggestions were constructed to enhance the function of Christian counselors’ language. They suggested elaboration of language in the following 4 areas: Clarification of boundary and framework of their counseling relationship; their client’s confidence and expectation on speech and language; clarification and resignification of her own wish and meaning; and methods to follow and resignify her speech.
