‘성경중심적 설교’는 모든 설교자들이 추구하는 가장 이상적인 설교이다. 그럼에도 성경중심적 설교에 대한 정의는 아직도 명확하지 않은 것이 현실이다. 그리고 계몽주의 시대로부터 지금까지 이어온 전통적 설교가 가진 문제점들을 지적하고 이러한 문제들이 성경중심적 설교를 통해 극복될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 그렇다면 설교자 다수가 공감할 수 있는 성경중심적 설교란 어떤 것일까? 본 연구는 관점주의라는 도구를 신학적 논증의 도구로 삼아, 규범적인 관점, 상황적인 관점, 실존적인 관점, 등 3중적 관점에서 어느 한쪽에 치우치지 않은 성경중심적 설교의 온전한 모습을 추구하고자 한다. 그리고 각 관점에 따른 적절한 설교자는 어떤 모습인지 살피고자 한다. 성경중심적 설교란 첫 번째, 규범적 관점에서 볼 때, 설교의 ‘내용’(what)이 반드시 본문에 근거해야 한다. 그리고 본문 중심 설교자는 자기 생각이나 의견을 전하고픈 유혹을 떨치고, 상황 밖에서 오는 하나님의 말씀에 사로잡혀 말씀을 선포하는 자이다. 두 번째, 상황적 관점에서 본 성경중심적 설교는 청중과 소통하기 위해 귀납적인 ‘방법’(how)으로 설교한다. 그리고 청중 중심 설교자는 자신이 먼저 말씀에 감동을 받아 설교하며, 청중을 인정하고 존중하므로 청중과 소통하기 위해 노력한다. 세 번째, 실존적 관점에서 본 성경중심적 설교자는 모든 성경의 핵심 메시지인 그리스도를 ‘목적’(why)으로 설교한다. 여기에서 설교자는 말로만이 아니라 삶과 행동으로 말씀이 육신이 되신 그리스도처럼 ‘성육신적인 설교’를 한다. 그러면 이러한 그리스도 중심적인 설교를 통해 청중들의 삶이 변화되고, 청중들은 자유와 해방을 누리게 된다. 결국 삼중적 관점에서 보는 ‘성경중심적 설교’란 어느 한 쪽에 치우치지 않고 규범적, 상황적, 실존적 관점을 충족하는 것이며, 이는 각 관점의 부족한 것을 보완하고 채워줌으로 우리의 설교를 더욱 온전하게 할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
All preachers pursue ‘Bible-centered preaching’ as the most ideal form of preaching. However, the reality is that Bible-centered preaching has not yet been clearly defined. I expect that a clear definition of Bible-centered preaching will point out and help overcome the problems of traditional preaching that have persisted since Enlightenment times. What then, is a Bible-centered preaching to which many preachers can relate? By using the theological tool of perspectivalism, this study seeks to determine a holistic form of Bible-centered preaching that does not lean in any one direction but is informed by three perspectives: the normative perspective, situational perspective, and existential perspective. It also examines examples of preachers who have followed each perspective. First, when Bible-centered preaching is looked at from the normative perspective, the contents or ‘what’ of the sermon must be based on the text. The text-centered preacher resists the temptation to communicate their own thoughts and opinions and instead is caught up in and proclaims the word of God that comes from outside their circumstances. Second, when seen from a situational perspective, the ‘how’ of Bible-centered preaching is in the use of the inductive method in order to communicate with the listener. The listener-focused preacher is first moved by the word themselves, and then makes the effort to communicate with the listener by acknowledging and respecting them. Third, when seen from the existential perspective, the Bible-centered preacher speaks with the purpose or ‘why’ of Christ, who is the core message of all the Bible. Here the preacher does not just speak with words, but with life and actions in an ‘incarnational preaching,’ like Christ who was Word become flesh. Then, through such Christ-centered sermons, the lives of listeners will be transformed and they will enjoy freedom and liberty. Ultimately ‘Bible-centered preaching’ seen from this threefold perspective prevents the preaching from leaning in only one direction. As the normative, situational and existential perspectives are fulfilled, each perspective supplements what is lacking in the others and makes for more holistic preaching.
