보육교사의 다문화감수성 관련 변인에 관한 연구- 개인 특성 및 다문화경험 특성 중심으로

초록

이 연구는 보육교사의 다문화감수성을 증진시키기 위한 중재 노력의 기초 과정으로 보육교사의 다문화감수성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 보육교사의 개인 특성 및 다문화경험 특성을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 U시 소재 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 교사 206명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 최종 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0프로그램을 이용, 빈도분석, 변량분석, 단계적 중다회귀 분석을 실시하여 분석하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보육교사의 전체 다문화감수성 및 다문화감수성의하위 요인은 보육교사의 연령, 경력, 학력, 어린이집 유형의 개인 특성에 따라 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 보육교사의 전체 다문화감수성 및 다문화감수성의 하위 요인은 보육교사의 다문화교육 실시 경험, 해외여행 경험의 다문화경험 특성에 따라 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 보육교사의 전체 다문화감수성에 대해 어린이집 유형, 경력, 다문화교육 실시 경험, 학력의 순으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다문화감수성의하위 요인인 다문화수용성은 경력, 어린이집 유형의 순으로, 다문화개방성은 어린이집 유형, 해외여행경험의 순으로, 다문화존중성은 어린이집 유형, 학력의 순으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

This study was designed to investigate variables influencing on child care teachers’ multiculturalsensitivity focusing on personal and multicultural experiential characteristics. The subjects in thisstudy were 206 child care teachers in child care center in U city. Teachers’ multiculturalsensitivity was measured by self-administered questionnaire and the collected data were analyzedby frequency analysis, analysis of variance, and stepwise regression. The finding of this study wereas follows. Firstly, results revealed significant differences for child care teachers’ personalcharacteristics variables such as their age, career, education level, child care center type in theirtotal multicultural sensitivity and subscales(multicultural acceptance, multicultural openess,multicultural respect). Secondly, results revealed significant differences for child care teachers’multicultural experiential variables such as their multicultural education practice and overseas tripexperience in their total multicultural sensitivity and subscales. Finally, child care teachers’ totalmulticultural sensitivity was affected by their child care center type, career, multicultural educationpractice experience, and education level in that order. Multicultural acceptance was affected bytheir career and child care center type, multicultural openess by their child care center type andoverseas trip experience, and multicultural respect by their child care center type and educationlevel.
