Abstract

The subjects of this study were mothers of 449 young children who were attending childcare centers and kindergartens. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program and the test of model was done with analysis of correlation matrix in AMOS 18.0 program using a path analysis The results of this study were as follows; First, mothers’ marital relationship and depression had direct effects on boys’ sleeping problem whereas girls’ sleeping problem was influenced directly by mother’s marital relationship, depression, somatic symptoms, and sleep quality. Mothers’ marital relationship appeared to be the most relatively influential on sleeping problem of boys whereas mother’s sleep quality did for girls. Second, mother’s depression and children’s sleeping problem had direct effects on children’s behavioral problem.
