Soil cohesion is one of the most important input parameters to predict shallow landslides. We analyzed the change of the soil cohesion value using Hydrogeomorphology model and the change of the accuracy of the model results for landslide prediction using SHALSTAB. In order for this analysis, the values of soil cohesion were calibrated for each case using the Hydrogeomorphology model; Case-I was the relation between measured soil depth and slope angle and Case-II was relation between average soil depth and slope angle. The estimated soil cohesion values were higher than that obtained by triaxial compression test. The prediction results(Case-I and Case-II) of shallow landslide were obtained from SHALSTAB model based on the modified soil cohesion values and the accuracy of prediction results were compared using receiver operating characteristic(ROC) analysis. The accuracy rate of Case-I and Case-II were 0.85 and 0.75, respectively, indicating Case-I was more accurate than Case-II. These results implied that the calibration of soil cohesion value using Hydrogeomorphology model may be necessary for better accuracy in prediction of shallow landslides.
