Abstract

The Saeng jeon Yesu-jae is a funeral or celebration ceremony wishing for rebirth in the Pure Land(Western Paradise, a Buddhist heaven), performed in-advance while the subject person is still alive, not after death. It was originally held in Lunar Calendar leap years but now is generally held in lunar leap months. The era of Perform rites of themselves, Yesu-jae and Perform rituals to pray for others, Suryuk-jae had entered into a close association have a common goal that originated in the post to go to the Pure Land. Principles of the scriptures Yesu-jae in life itself is pray in order to go to the Pure Land, after death. However, Joseon Dynasty people are not staying in the pray for himself, and developed in ritual to pray for the souls of the dead go to the Pure Land. It is believed that this practice who works with an emphasis on fathers of our nation.
