Abstract

In an early stage, the historic Folk institutes founded for the purpose of researching newly the living history of people and of overcoming and complementing the limitation of existing Folklore. The initial participants were various. The institute included the historian, folklore, oral traditional literature, Clothing historian, Construction historian, food culture, art historian, traditional musician as well as theologist and doctor. And the participants who were interested in the existence of the people in history focused on research of living history of people and changing history of tradition and they believed that they could find the identity and distinction through extending the scope of data, developing the various source of data and through scholastic research. Therefore they accumulated the research results differed from existing scholastic research such as method of arranging the living history of people, arranging folklore history, unearthing and utilizing the regional data of wide scope, trying scholastic research as a synthetic culture. In the meantime, It was big change that they studied in view of the history of village society in historical folklore. The feather of history of village society mainly were the changing history of governing power and social organization, the relations of power and unearthing new data. It made possible to check the cultural homogeneity and regional variety by changing the scope of object from Gun and Hyun of historical study to village of historical folklore and it contributed to show 'the difference of historical aspects of development' that I introduced roughly in the research of historical folklore.
