Abstract

The most important words of the whole entry words of Korean Japanese · Japanese Korean dictionary are the basic words of both languages. The number of the basic words of both languages is so small that it is easy to be handled. Provided that the basic words of both languages of which the semantic analyses are necessary are selected, the number of entry words to be handled is to be much decreased. I fixed the criteria by which the basic words of both languages can be selected. In this thesis, I presented the possibilities that the semantic analyses by contrastive method are available for the editorial work of Korean Japanese dictionary and Japanese Korean dictionary. The semantic analyses by the contrastive method have the possibility to be more available in bilingual dictionaries than monolingual dictionaries. I made an effort to show by practical examples how the basic entry words are semantically analysed.
