초록

This study uses conversation analysis to examine the use of wo juede ‘I think’ occurring both at the beginning of the turn and at the end of the turn(wo juede...wo juede). Turn-initial position and turn-final position are sequentially specifiable places for interactional moves. The use of wo juede in them, is analyzed with respect to the co-participant’s action that precedes and with respect to the co-participant’s action that follow. This study proposes wo juede...wo juede has developed the discourse-pragmatic functions to solicit the recipients’ preferred next response and transfer the speakership in specific sequential contexts. This study seeks to contribute to conversation analytic research by revealing previously uninvestigated language-specific phenomenon while at the same time showing how talk-in-interaction can display the striking systematicity and orderliness.
