아동의 유음 /ㄹ/에 대한 지각 및 산출 연구

This study examined the perceptual and acoustic characteristics of Korean liquid sounds of normal children. Children aged 4 with normal development produced 4 types of nonsense syllables containing liquid sound /Vl/, /VlbV/, /VllV/ and /VrV/ sequences where V was any one of three corner vowels(/i, a, and u/). The articulation ability of children was assessed and divided into 2 groups (well-performed vs. poor execution) with 7-point Likert scale and their accuracy of consonants was analyzed. Acoustic variables such as duration ratio, spectral energy ratios in utterances and center of gravity of the spectrum of liquid sounds were selected. There was a difference in the percentage of correct consonant production according to phonological environment in all vowels. The accuracy of lateral consonants was higher than the accuracy of flaps. The acoustically analyzed results revealed a significant difference between groups with respect to the duration ratio and energy ratio of liquid sounds in utterance. This study suggests that the liquid sounds have differences in the development depending on the positions in word. It also suggests a possible approach to an acoustic analysis for liquid sounds of children with meaningful acoustic variables measured.
