한국어 언어 공식에 대한 영어 사용권자의 인지도 연구

Abstract

This paper is to show how Westerners not knowing Korean at all understand the Korean idiomatic expressions especially closely related with body in spite of the cultural barriors and linguistic difficulties. The result of thirty one expressions analysis is, to my surprise, that all participants to the questionaries are able to catch the meaning almost completely. Furthermore, the detail of linguistic similarity and the universal basics of metaphors between English and Korean are surprisingly interrelated beyond the cultural diversities.
