Abstract
There are many verbs which are compounded of ‘-hilhuda(힐후다)’ in old Korean literatures. However, the meanings of these verbs are not grammatically correct or semantically do not make sense in the present dictionaries of old Korean. Besides, some meanings differ from dictionary to dictionary. This paper aims to re-define the meanings of the verbs which have disagreements in their meanings. By examining old Korean literatures thoroughly and comparing them with the original Chinese text, we make it sure that some meanigs of the verbs which are compounded of ‘-hilhuda’ should be re-defined. The verbs are as follows; 가도힐후다, 갑힐후다, 고티힐후다, 논힐후다, 두르힐후다, 드위힐후다, 두위힐후다, 밀힐후다, 옮기힐후다, 횟도로힐후다.
