Abstract
Major countries are promoting strategies to strengthen industrial competitiveness because of the slow growth and low productivity of these global economies. In addition, according to the fourth revolution in shipping and shipbuilding, studies are being actively conducted on reducing the energy consumption of vessels such as green ships, eco-ships, and smart ships. For this reason, power management systems have become an important field of research. By using batteries in power management systems consisting of generators, it is possible to increase the overall energy efficiency of electric power by increasing the average operation load factor of the diesel generator. In this thesis. we try to determine the energy savings associated with using batteries in power management systems. For this reason, an energy saving formula was derived, and the amount of energy saved was obtained through simulation. The results confirmed that energy saving is the maximum when the load of the generator ranges from 82 to 86%, the discharge amount is as low as possible, and the charging amount is 12%.
