Abstract
This paper discusses the possibility of R&D subsidy harmonization for global innovation and economic growth between developed and developing country. The key results are as follow : Firstly, the international harmonization of R&D subsidy is possible when the pre-harmonized R&D subsidy of developing country is greater than that of developed country. Secondly, when developing country has more population than developed country, the harmonized subsidy should be less than the pre-harmonized subsidy of developing country but greater than that of developed country, but when developing country has less population than developed countries it should be greater than the pre-harmonized subsidy of developing country. Thirdly, the effect of an increase in the harmonized subsidy on global innovation is always positive when developed country has more population than developing country, but when developing country has more population than developed country, the effect is inverted-U shape, so that there is the optimal level of harmonized subsidy for the maximization of global innovation. Fourthly, the optimal subsidy increases with the population of developed country and the demand substitutability among goods, but decreases with the population of developing country.
