사회학적 제도주의 관점에서 본 연구학교의 문법: 연구학교 운영과정의 특성을 중심으로

초록

본 연구의 목적은 사회학적 제도주의 관점에서 연구학교 운영 과정의 특성을 분석하여, 연구학교 제도 속에 당연시되어 존재하는‘연구학교 문법’이 무엇인지 도출해보는 것이다. 이를 위해 3개의 연구학교와 교육부․교육청 관계자 등 18명의 연구 참여자에 대해 면담을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 연구학교의 운영 과정상의 특징은 위에서“지정”하는 교육부와“운영”하는 학교 간의 유기적 협력 관계 부족,“틀에 박힌”연구학교의 양식과 절차,“일상적 학교 생활과 분리되어 이뤄지는”운영,“우리만 바쁜”담당부서 중심의 운영,“당연히 그래야 하는 통상 관념”인 연구학교의 결과 등으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 연구학교 운영 과정에서 공고화되어 있는‘연구학교의 문법’으로는‘위계 속 격리’,‘관행 추종’,‘선별하기’,‘도구화’등으로 도출하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify what the research school grammar is through the analysis of characteristics of the research school management process. For this, I held in-depth interviews with officials of The Ministry of Education, Education Offices, and unit schools. The research made use of data from three schools and eighteen research participants. The result is that the research school grammar is segregated in hierarchy, selection, following custom, and instrumentalism. The political suggestions are as follows. First, The Ministry of Education and Education Offices should provide enough autonomy for unit schools and foster an atmosphere in which the unit school is less affected by superior offices. Second, superior offices should make a system in which the unit school admits its failures and shares in other schools' trials and errors.
