본 연구는 ‘가장 바람직한 교육은 학습자들의 다양한 재능을 잘 살리는 교육’이라는 대전제 아래, 다중지능을 통하여 파악할 수 있는 중학생들의 다양한 재능이 실제 교과 성적에 어느 정도 반영되고 있는지에 대한 관심에서 출발하였다. 이를 확인하기 위하여 다중지능과 학업성취도 간의 관계를 심도 있게 분석하고 학교교육에 대한 함의를 도출하였다. 연구의 대상은 경기도 소재의 A중학교에 재학 중인 3학년 학생115명이다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 중학생들의 다중지능 및 학업성취도 경향을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 주요 교과목을 중심으로 중학생들의 학업성취도 수준을 상, 중, 하로 나누어 각 집단별 다중지능의 평균차를 검증하였다. 셋째, 중학생들의 다중지능이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 빈도분석, 상관분석, 독립표본 t-test, 일원배치분산분석(one way ANOVA), 위계적 회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 또한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 결론 및 논의, 그리고 향후 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between multiple intelligences (MI)and academic achievement. The participants in this study were 115 middle school students intheir third year who were attending a school in Gyeonggi-do, Korea, during the time of thisstudy. The study had several goals to achieve. Firstly, tendencies related to multipleintelligences and the characteristics of academic achievement by middle school students werereviewed. Secondly, the study verified different groups’ mean differences as regards multipleintelligences, according to their academic achievement levels. Thirdly, influence of multipleintelligences on academic achievement was explored. The investigator conducted a frequencyanalysis, a correlation analysis, an independent-samples t-test, a one way ANOVA, andhierarchical regression analyses. Conclusions and a discussion pertaining to the results follow,and proposals for future research are suggested based on the findings here
