본 논문은 몬드라곤협동조합이 다른 모델이나 다른 지역과 어떻게 다른 지를 비교하기보다는 몬드라곤협동조합을 통해 우리가 무엇을 배워야 하는지의 관점에서 고찰하고자 한다. 몬드라곤협동조합은 연대성과 지역성 가치를 추구하는 좋은 조직 및 사업체제 사례를 보여주고 있다. 몬드라곤협동조합은 지역사회 내 일자리와 부를 창출하기 위해 스페인 바스크 지방의 소도시 몬드라곤에서 시작돼 지난 60여 년에 걸쳐 현재의 노동자 주도 협동조합기업으로 성장하였다. 몬드라곤협동조합은 일반 협동조합과는 달리 연대성･지역성 가치를 추구하는 매우 독특한 조직 및 사업체제를 가지고 있다. 본 논문은 첫째, 몬드라곤협동조합의 연대성･지역성 가치 추구 특성과 조직 및 사업 현황을 고찰하고자 한다. 둘째, 연대성･지역성 가치를 추구하는 몬드라곤협동조합의 조직 및 사업체제 전략을 고찰하고자 한다. 셋째, 그 결과를 통해 우리나라 협동조합(농협, 생협 등)에 배워야 할 몇 가지 시사점을 검토, 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to consider Mondragon Corporation within the framework of case learning rather than comparison study. Mondragon Corporation illustrates a positive case of an organization or business system that ensures active solidarity between Mondragon cooperatives and the local Mondragon community. Mondragon started as a small cooperative in Mondragon, a small town in the Basque region of Spain, to provide employment in the area, and over the last 60 years, it has grown into a worker-led corporation. Mondragon Corporation has a very unique organizational and business system and pursues a solidarity and locality strategy. The aim of this paper is threefold. First, it aims to study the characteristics of Mondragon Corporation and the current situation of its organization and business. Second, it seeks to study the organization and business of MONDRAGON that actively pursues solidarity between Mondragon cooperatives and the local Mondragon community. Third, this paper will list the implications of Mondragon Corporation based on the results of this study so that Korean cooperatives (agricultural, consumer, etc.) can learn to improve their solidarity and locality.
