누리과정 교사용 지도서와 장학자료에 수록된 장애관련 활동 분석

본 연구는 우리나라 유아기 교육과정 운영을 위한 교사용 자료에 장애관련 활동이 어느 정도로 수록되어 있는지를 알아볼 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 분석에 이용한 자료는 3, 4, 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서와 2007년 교육인적자원부에서 발행한 장학자료이다. 분석은 누리과정의 생활주제별, 활동유형별로 이루어졌고 장애관련 활동으로 분석된 활동에 어떤 장애유형이 소개되었는지를 분석하였다. 생활주제별, 활동유형별 분석에서는 장애관련 용어, 보조도구 및 편의시설, 관련 인물 등을 분석기준으로 삼았고 장애유형 분석에서는 장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법에 제시된 특수교육대상자를 기준으로 삼았다. 분석결과, 3, 4, 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에는 총 활동수 대비 0.94%의 활동이 포함되어 있었다. 또한 연령별로는 연령이 높아질수록 더 많은 활동이 포함되어 있었고, 생활주제별 분석에서는 비교적 고른 분포를 보였으나 3∼5세 전체에서 장애관련 활동을 전혀 포함하지 않은 주제도 있었다. 활동유형별 분석에서는 대소집단활동이 자유선택활동보다 더 많은 장애관련 활동을 포함하고 있었고, 장애유형별로는 지체장애, 시각장애, 청각장애가 언급되어 있었다. 장학자료 분석에서는 Ⅰ수준보다 Ⅱ수준에 2배 이상의 활동이 포함되어 있었고 전체 활동수는 20개로 누리과정의 20개와 동일한 수준이었다. 결론적으로 우리나라 유아기 보육과 교육을 통합한 교육과정인 누리과정에 소개된 활동에는 1%가 채 안 되는 미미한 수준의 장애관련 활동이 포함되어 있어, 유아들에게 이른 시기부터 장애관련 용어와 도구 및 시설을 접할 기회를 제공함으로써 친숙함을 제공하기 위해서는 장애관련 활동을 다양화하고 양적으로 확대할 필요성이 제기되었다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the disability-related activities included in Nuri Curriculum Guidebooks for Teachers and materials for the encouragement of teaching to seek for an efficient application plan for the educational materials. In order to achieve the purpose, this study analyzed the educational activities that reflected disability-related contents, terms and methods with 10 volumes for children aged 3, 11 for those aged 4 and 11 for those aged 5 of Nuri Curriculum Guidebooks for Teachers and materials for the encouragement of teaching, published by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development in 2007. The results of this study are as follows. First, the weight of the disability-related activities included in Nuri Curriculum Guidebooks for Teachers was 0.15% for children aged 3; 0.94% for those aged 4; and 1.72% for those aged 5, and yet, out of the total 2,116 activities, disability-related activities were only 20 types, (0.95%) which was very low. Second, as a result of an analysis of the disability-related activities included in the materials for the encouragement of learning according to the type of activities, out of a total 20 disability-related activities, free-choice activities were 6 while large and sub-group activities were 14, which overall were distributed evenly. In sum, this study found that the disability-related activities included in Nuri Curriculum Guidebooks for Teachers and the materials for the encouragement of teaching accounted for a very low proportion.
