다문화 가정의 부부 갈등 커뮤니케이션에 관한 연구: 갈등 형성과 대처를 중심으로

본 연구는 다문화 가정의 급속한 증가와 함께 나타나는 갈등, 특히 부부 갈등의 양상과 갈등당사자들의 대처방식을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 이에 대한 적절한 지원방안과 정책 등에 대해서도 제언하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 다문화 가정의 부부를 심층인터뷰하여 부부의 갈등 유형을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 부부 갈등은 크게 의사소통으로 인한 갈등, 경제적 문제로 인한 갈등, 지역사회 및 문화 갈등, 사회적 편견으로 인한 갈등의 네 가지 유형으로 발생하고 있었다. 특히 커뮤니케이션 차원의 갈등이 많이 나타나는 것으로 보아 다문화 가정의 원활한 의사소통을 위한 좀 더 체계적이고 효율적 언어교육을 위한 정책 지원을 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 한편 다문화 가정 부부의 갈등 대처유형을 분석한 결과, 대체로 회피와 단절, 인내와 순응, 간섭과 통제, 연대와 소통의 네 가지 양상으로 나타났다. 이는 기존 대인 커뮤니케이션 상에서 나타나는 갈등 대처 유형과 유사한 형태를 띤다. 따라서 다문화 가정 부부 갈등의 경우 문화적 문제에 국한하여 해결하려는 노력에 그칠 것이 아니라, 부부를 동등한 인격체로 보고 일상적인 대인관계 커뮤니케이션의 문제로 구체적인 차원에서 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 다문화 가정 부부를 대상으로 한 상담 및 코칭 프로그램, 다문화 가정과 지역사회 간 연대와 소통 프로그램 등을 활성화시키고 이에 대한 지원을 확대해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Rapid increasement of the multicultural family in Korea caused the conflict between the husband and wife. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to deducted the conflict formation and management style between them in order to show the suitable supporting system and policy. To meet this purpose, we took the in-depth interview with multicultural couples. As a result, communication conflict, economic problems, conflict caused in the local community and cultural conflict, and social bias on multicultural family member were shown. Especially communication conflict were shown a lot. It means that of systematic and effective support for the right policy on the communicational aspects for multicultural family were highly needed. Secondly, four different style of the conflict management were revealed. They were avoiding & disconnection, tolerance & obliging, intervention & control, and solidarity & communication. It is really similar with the conflict management style in the interpersonal communication such as avoiding, obliging, dominating, and integrating. It means that the cultural problem as well as the communication problem caused the conflict between the multicultural family. Therefore, we need to help them to solve the communication problem in a daily communication basis. And the support program on communication conflict management such as counseling program, coaching program, community solidarity and communication program among the multicultural family and local community are highly needed.
