정서‧행동장애아동 어머니와 일반아동 어머니의 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감 비교 연구

본 연구는 정서·행동장애아동 어머니와 일반아동 어머니의 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감 수준을 비교해 봄으로써 정서‧행동 문제 접근에 있어 두 변인의 중요성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 B광역시와 K도의 11개 초등학교 및 3개 복지관에 소속된 정서·행동장애아동 어머니 162명, 일반아동 어머니 171명이었다. 이들에게 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감 수준을 조사하여 t-검증, ANOVA 분석, 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감 수준은 정서·행동장애아동 어머니와 일반아동 어머니 모두 보통 이상 수준을 보였으나 정서·행동장애아동 어머니의 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감수준이 일반아동 어머니 수준에 비해 유의미하게 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 배경변인에 따른 부모자녀 상호작용 수준 분석에서 정서·행동장애아동 어머니는 사회경제적 변인이라 할 수 있는 학력과 소득에서만 집단 간 차이가 확인되었으나, 일반아동 어머니는 연령과 자녀 관련 변인에서 집단 간 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 정서·행동장애아동 어머니와 일반아동 어머니의 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감 하위영역에 대한 상관관계 분석에서는 정서·행동장애아동 어머니 부모자녀 상호작용과 공감이 각 하위 영역들 간에 더 유의한 관련성을 보였다. 이에 정서·행동장애아동의 문제에 접근함에 있어 주양육자 지원이 함께 이루어지는 포괄적 지원 방안이 다각적으로 모색되어져야 하겠다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the importance of the two variables in approaching emotional and behavioral problems by comparing the level of parent-child interaction and empathy between mothers of children with emotional and behavioral disorders and mothers of ordinary children. The subjects of this study were 162 mothers of children with emotional and behavioral disorders and 171 mothers of ordinary children belonging to 11 elementary schools and 3 welfare centers in B metropolitan and K provinces. t-test, ANOVA analysis, and correlation analysis were conducted to investigate parent-child interaction and empathy level. The results of the study are as follows: First, the parent-child interaction and empathy level was above average for both mothers of children with emotional and behavioral disorders and mothers of ordinary children, but the parental-child interaction and empathy level was significantly lower than that of mothers with emotional and behavioral disabilities and mothers of ordinary children. Second, the analysis of the level of interaction between parents and children by background variables revealed differences between groups only in their educational background and income, which can be called socioeconomic variables, while the average child mother showed differences between groups in age and child-related variables. Third, the correlation between the parent-child interactions and empathy sub-regions of mothers with emotional and behavioral disorders and mothers of ordinary children showed a more significant correlation between the parents-child interactions of mothers with emotional and behavioral disorders and their respective sub-regions of empathy. Therefore, in approaching the problems of children with emotional and behavioral disabilities, comprehensive support plans with support for primary caregivers must be explored in various ways.
