정확하고 효율적인 발달 선별도구의 사용이 발달문제를 조기 발견하는데 결정적인 역할을 함에도 불구하고 국내에서는 신뢰성과 타당성 있게 국내의 영유아와 사용 가능한 선별도구는 많지 않다. 이 연구에서는 미국에서 심도 있게 연구되었고 또한 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 선별도구인 Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)를 이용하여 국내의 영유아에게 적용하였다. 먼저 ASQ는 한국어로 번역되어 이의 내용 타당도를 구축하여 4개월 이상 5년 이하 영유아 1206명의 부모를 대상으로 배포되었다. ASQ 문항의 적절성, 문항 신뢰도가 파악되었으며, 또한 부모가 사용하는 ASQ의 유용성이 제시되었다. 더하여 도구번역과 관련된 제시점과 연구의 나아갈 방향에 대한 토론을 제시한다.
Abstract
Accurate and efficient developmental screening measures are critical for early identification of developmental problems. However, few reliable and valid tests are available in Korea. The Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), one of the most popular and well-studied instrument in the U.S. was chosen for study with young children in Korea. The ASQ was translated into Korean and studied its content validity, and then distributed to 1206 parents of young children between the ages of 4 months and 5 years. Item validity and item reliability was studied as well as utility of the ASQ. Implications for the use of a translated instrument are discussed.
