발달지체 영아의 어머니가 요구하는 가족지원에 대한 질적 탐색

[목적] 발달지체 영아를 위한 조기 중재는 장애의 심화와 그로 인해 파생되는 여러 가지 문제들을 예방할 수 있는 장점을 지닌다. 조기 중재를 위해서는 장애의 발견과 진단을 시작으로 이들을 양육하는 가족들에게 필요한 다양한 지원의 방법들이 제공되어야 한다. 그러므로 본 연구는 발달지체 영아를 양육하고 있는 어머니들이 필요로 하는 가족지원의 유형과 내용이 무엇인지 알아보고 가족지원에 대한 방향과 구체적인 방법을 모색하고자 하였다. [방법] 이를 위해 D 지역의 아동발달센터와 종합병원 치료실을 이용하고 있는 발달지체 영아의 어머니 12명을 대상으로 심층면담 가이드에 따라 심층면담을 실시하였다. [결과] 그 결과, 장애의 진단과 발견, 양육, 교육과 치료, 가족의 관계와 기능의 회복이라는 4가지 대 주제와 이와 관련된 10개의 하위 주제가 도출되었다. 이 주제들에 따른 가족지원 요구의 유형은 정서적 지원, 신체적 지원, 물질 및 제도적 지원, 정보제공을 위한 지원으로 구분되었다. [결론] 4가지로 구분된 가족지원의 유형 가운데 정보제공에 대한 지원의 요구가 가장 높게 나타났는데, 특히 어머니들은 자녀의 양육 및 교육과 치료에 대한 구체적인 정보를 전문가로부터 구할 수 있기를 원했다. 두 번째로는 양육 스트레스와 가족관계 회복을 위한 정서적 지원의 요구가 높게 나타났다. 신체적 지원과 물질 및 제도적 지원은 국가와 지역사회가 제공하는 형식적 지원으로 돌봄제도와 바우처 활용 방법의 개선이 요구되었다.

Abstract

[Purpose] Early intervention for infants with developmental delay has the advantage of preventing the deepening of disabilities and the various problems that result from them. For early intervention, various methods of support should be provided to families raising infant with developmental delay. Therefore, this study sought to find out what type and content of family support is needed by mothers raising infant with developmental delay and to find directions and specific methods for family support. [Method] For this purpose, 12 mothers of infant with developmental delay who are using child development centers and general hospital therapy service in D district participated in the study. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted according to the in-depth interview guide. [Results] As a result, four major themes - diagnosis and discovery of disability, parenting, education and therapy, family relationships and the restoration of function - and ten sub-topics related to them were discovered. And the types of family support needs were divided into emotional, physical, financial and institutional support, and support for information provision. [Conclusion] Among the four types of family support, the needs for information provision was the highest. In particular, mothers wanted to get specific information from experts on parenting, education and treatment for their infant. Secondly, emotional support for the recovery of parenting stress and family relationships was high. Physical, financial and institutional support were required to improve the care system and voucher utilization methods with formal support provided by the state and local government.
