Abstract
[Purpose] As artificial intelligence(AI) digital literacy becomes more important in the fourth industrial era, the presence of AI content has greatly strengthened in the 2022 revised national curriculum. The purpose of this study was to provide basic information necessary for the education of students with special needs by analyzing AI content presented in achievement standards, teaching-learning, and evaluation of the commonㆍelective-centered curriculum and the special education basic curriculum. [Method] All subjects by school level in the commonㆍelective-centered curriculum and the basic curriculum were analyzed according to criteria established through literature review. Following Jeon et al. (2023), the criteria for analyzing achievement standards were three areas of AI(understanding, ethics, and utilization of artificial intelligence) and methods and artificial intelligence tools were selected as the criteria for analyzing. A frequency analysis was conducted for each keyword related to AI included in the criteria for achievement standards, teaching-learning, and evaluation. [Results] The results of this study are as follows. First, the number of achievement standards including AI was significantly higher in the commonㆍelective-centered curriculum than in the basic curriculum. In the commonㆍelective-centered curriculum, achievement standards were evenly organized in three areas. In the basic curriculum, only three achievement standards were set for the use and understanding of AI. Second, more types of teaching-learning methods and AI tools were used in the common-elective-centered curriculum than the basic curriculum, and the frequency of presentation was high. Third, evaluation methods did not present in both the commonㆍelective-centered curriculum and basic curriculum. The AI evaluation tool was used more in the common-elective-centered curriculum, and the frequency of presentation was high. [Conclusion] For students with special needs to develop AI digital capabilities, AI education contents should be consistently and systematically organized across achievement standards, teaching-learning, and evaluation, especially in the basic curriculum.
